Author

Victoria Lavine is an author born in Germany but currently living in Maine with her family. She’s always been a fan of reading romance novels and decided to write her first romance novel Any Trope But You. Victoria’s also a big lover of coffee and is always looking for an excuse to have another cup.

Plot

Any Trope But You follows beloved romance author Margot Bradley. But her readers don’t know about her dark secret. She doesn’t believe in Happily Ever Afters and actually has a Happily Never After file where she writes alternate endings to her books. However, when her file is hacked and released to the public she ends up being cancelled by her readers and dropped by her publisher.

Since Margot needs to be able to provide for her chronically ill sister, Savannah, she decides to try her hand at murder mysteries instead. But then Savannah books Margot a stay at an Alaskan resort for Margot to write her first murder mystery instead of writing it at home in LA. Margot instead finds herself running from a moose and jumping into the arms of the gorgeous proprietor and possibly into a real life romance novel.

The last thing Dr. Forrest Wakefield ever thought he’d do would be to leave his job in LA as a cancer researcher to be a glorified bellhop. But he had to go home to Alaska to take care of his dad after an accident and help run the resort and be the guide for the wilderness adventures. But when Margot shows up his world is turned upside down. However, he can’t afford to get close to someone else he can loose. Especially someone who has a checkout date.

My Review

I decided to join a group of girls on Instagram in a challenge to try and read as many of our advanced reader copies as we could and Any Trope But You was one a lot of us decided to read together and I’m so glad we did. I couldn’t get enough of this book. The characters and their banter was everything I wanted in a romance book. All the tropes one of the other all throughout really kept me on my toes and I loved that. There was even a part where tears started to well in my eyes and its been years since I’ve cried from a book so I was very pleased that it could bring that much emotion out of me. I easily score this book 5/5 stars and would recommend to any romance book lovers.

And that’s the end of my Any Trope But You by Victoria Lavine book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments what you thought of it. If you’re looking for other books to read check out these reviews: Ready Or NotBriar U Book Series, and Beach Vibes.
