Author
B.K. Borison is an author living out of Baltimore her husband and two children. She’s an amazing author mostly known for First Time Caller and the Lovelight Farms book series. The first book is of course Lovelight Farms, second book is In the Weeds, the third is Mixed Signals, and the final book is Business Casual. I’ve read all four and they were all amazing. Easily some of my all time favorite books. I love B.K. Borision’s writing style and her ability to bring characters and relationships to life. She’s the type of author that I’ll be reading everything she releases.
Plot
Aiden Valetine has fallen out of love with love. Which is a problem considering he’s the host of Baltimore’s romance hotline, Heartstrings. When a young girl calls into the station hoping for some dating advice for her mom the interview goes viral.
Lucie Stone thought she was doing fine. She has a good job, a loving family, and a kid she adores. But when all of Baltimore is suddenly scrutinizing her lack of love life she begins to question if she’s as happy as she thought she was and agrees to look for love on Heartstrings.
Everyone’s rooting for Lucie to find her happily ever after. Including the handsome, temperamental Aiden. But when sparks start to fly between them, Lucie needs to decide if she wants her Heartstrings sponsorednhappily ever after or the man sitting next to her.
Quotes
“I want to feel something when I connect with someone. I want sparks. The good kind, you know? I want to laugh and mean it. I want goose bumps. I want to wonder what my date is thinking about and hope it might be me. I want… I want the magic.”
“I’m allowed to want soft, special things.”
“I don’t concern myself with the fragile egos of men.”
My Review
I’m a big fan of B.K. Borison so I had high hopes for this book and it didn’t disappoint. B.K. Borison has such a talent for making me fall in love with characters and their love stories. I also loved that this book had a bit of a different family dinamic than usual. Also, finding love on a radio show isn’t something I’ve read before so it was nice to read something new. This slow burn, opposites attract, forced proximity was everything I hoped it would be and more. First Time Caller was an easy 5/5 stars for me and I would easily recommend it to romance book lovers.
And that’s the end of my First Time Caller by B.K. Borison book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments and if you loved it as much as I did.
