Author

Meghan Quinn is a New York Times, #1 Amazon, and USA Today best selling author. She’s also a wife, and adoptive mother and a huge peanut butter lover. Meghan is known for her romantic comedies and contemporary romances that bring the heat and the humour.

Plot

Atlas “Max” Maxheimer did not sign up for this. One minute, he’s trying to keep his family Christmas tree farm from imploding. And the next, he’s lying on the ground after being hit with a flying bottle of soda.

Betty is new in town, full of holiday cheer, and is helping her uncle open a rival Christmas tree farm right next door to the Maxheimer farm. Max is convinced Betty is there to ruin everything his family farm stand for, while Betty thinks Max is a horrible person due to the stories her uncle has told her.

Through storms, stolen ornaments, and misguided plots, this small town war turns into more than Max and Betty thought it would.

Quotes

“I’ve had a stomachache since the moment I heard about her.”

“Can you see it? Him skipping about, unable to control his excitement? Well, I saw it and spared you the details. Might have lost a little respect for him, especially because after she left, he skipped around and then ran into the coffee table again, causing him to go headfirst into the Christmas tree.”

“I might look intimidating wielding an axe at the farm, but I’m not ashamed to say I’m a cinnamon roll.”

My Review

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Meghan Quinns books but have never read one until now. I can’t believe I haven’t read anything by her until now because I absolutely loved this book. Meghan is so great at writing whit and hilarious dialogue that I found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions. I loved that Max wasn’t your typical MMC. He had a very different personality than most characters with him being very weird, rambly, and acting without worried about being embarrassed. Betty was another fun character and I loved that her and Max were very similar. She wasn’t your typical FMC and I loved that she was also a little awkward and rambly like Max. Betty and Max were such a fun couple to root for and now I’m going to have to go back and read the first book in the series that I didn’t realize existed when I bought this book. This book was a 5/5 star read for me and I can’t wait to read more from Meghan Quinn. If you love small town, forced proximity, rivals to lovers romance then you’ll love this book.

And that’s the end of my Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal by Meghan Quinn book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments and if you loved it as much as I did. If you’re looking for other books to read check out these reviews: OffsideLove, Beauty & Soul, and Holiday Ever After.
