Author

Nisha J. Tuli is an international bestselling author of fantasy, steamy rom-coms, and is known for her kissing scenes full of angst. Her book, Trial Of The Sun Queen, become a huge hit with the booktok crowd and is adored by plenty celebrities.

When Nisha isn’t reading or writing you can find her in the gym, in the kitchen eating, or knitting some scarves to survive the freezing Canadian winters where she lives in Manitoba with her husband, their two children, and their Samoyed.

Plot

Engineer Trishara Malik dreamed of being the first woman of color to excel at WMC Purcell, but after years of being pushed to the side for white male privilege,  nepotism, and watching her deserved promotion go to her nemesis Rafe Gallagher-the boss’ son-her dreams seem to have dwindled. Tris is checked out of her job and is considering changing companies when she’s picked to attend WMC’s corporate leadership retreat in Hawaii. This is the chance she’s been looking for to revive her drive to succeed and compete for one of the coveted spots in the executive training program. The only problem with her three weeks in paradise, is that Rafe is going too.

To ensure she enjoys her trip, Tris is planning to avoid Rafe as much as possible. The only problem with that is that when she arrives, she discovers there’s a booking error and her and Rafe are sharing the honeymoon suite. Sure, Rafe is an easy 11 out of 10 but after years of competition they can’t stand to be in the same room together. After spending time together in team building exercises and aptitude tests, Tris starts to wonder if maybe Rafe isn’t the villain she always thought he was.

My Review

This is the first book I’ve read by Nisha J. Tuli and I’m absolutely obsessed with her writing. This book is the definition of what I want when it comes to a slow burn. The yearning I felt when reading was so intense and the wanting of the main characters to get together and it being so close and being pulled away had me absolutely hooked. I also loved how Nisha showed how hard it can be for women and especially women of color to work in these male dominated fields. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about this book and it’s an easy 5/5 stars for me.

And that’s the end of my Not Safe For Work by Nisha J. Tuli book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments if you love it as much as I did. If you’re looking for other books to read check out these reviews: Meet Me At The Lake, Canadian Boyfriend, and Beneath The Hood.
