Author

Karen Booth is a mid-western girl now living in the south. She was raised on 80’s music and constant re-reads of Judy Bloom’s Forever. Karen is an incredible author of steamy contemporary romance and women’s fiction. When she’s not writing these amazing character’s she’s listening to music with her kids, perfecting her southern cooking skills, or sweet-talking her supportive husband into making delicious cocktails.

Plot

Mia Neal is a huge over thinker. She fixates on something and sends herself into a spiral. Luckily for her, she fixates on her podcast of her favorite sport in the world, F1. F1 is her favorite sport because of the speed, drivers, fierce competition, and single-minded ambition. Which is ironic for a girl who changes careers so often.

Her podcast has blown up thanks to her salty takes on F1 driver Xander Bishop making her podcast feel increasingly like this is what she’s meant to do. Then, Xander’s teammate invites Mia to a race to give her a front row seat to the action and to hopefully get in Xander’s head as he’s no pleased with her sassy comments.

It should have been a bad meeting. Instead, Mia and Xander find a connection between them they can’t seem to ignore.

Review

This book was my introduction to F1 romances and I must say I want to read more! It was a fun world to dive into and I really enjoyed it. I really like Mia and Xander’s characters and their relationship that unfolded between them. It was interesting to see a character like Mia who’s so intelligent decide to go her own path and be her own boss instead of working for someone else in a traditional way. After reading about the insights from Xander about his driving and everything that goes into it I will definitely be looking for another F1 romance to read. I enjoyed this book and would rate it a 4/5 stars.

And that’s the end of my Not So Fast by Karen Booth book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments if you love it as much as I did. If you’re looking for other books to read check out these reviews: Not Safe For Work, Meet Me At The Lake, and Canadian Boyfriend.
