Plot
Poppy and Alex have nothing in common. Poppy’s a wild child with insatiable wonderlust, while Alex wears khakis and prefers to stay home and read. Yet somehow, ever since they shared a car ride home from university ten years ago, they’ve been best friends. For the majority of the year, Poppy lives in New York, while Alex lives in their small hometown. But every summer for the last ten years they take a summer trip together. That is, until two years ago, when everything was ruined. And they haven’t spoken since.
Poppy has everything she ever wanted, the apartment, dream job, always traveling, but she’s stuck in a rut. When her friend asks what last truly made her happy, the obvious answer is Alex. Poppy reaches out and proposes a trip and shockingly, Alex agrees.

My Review
I’ve heard such amazing things about Emily Henry books and decided to start with People We Meet On Vacation since it’s going to be a movie on Netflix and knew I’d want to read the book before the movie came out. I didn’t really know what to expect with this book but I loved it. I’ve recently gotten into dual timeline books and I’m always a sucker for a friends to lovers romance. It was such an interesting friendship for them to have and to be so successful considering how different they are. They really proved that opposites do attract.
I loved reading about Poppy and Alex’s friends to lovers, second chance romance and can’t wait to see how the movie turns out. This book was a great introduction to Emily Henry and I can’t wait to read more from her. I would rate this book a 4/5 stars and recommend it to anyone who loves a friends to lovers romance.
