Author

Melissa Ferguson is a bestselling author currently living in Tennessee with her husband and children in their beautiful farmhouse. She loves to write romantic comedies with humor and heart and to turn her friends and acquaintances into characters in her books.

Plot

If there’s one thing Penelope Mae Dupont prizes most about herself, it’s her composure and her ability to stay calm in the face of stress. It’s an important trait in her job as a personal assistant to renowned mystery author Hugh Griffin and furthermore the fabulous seven who are seven celebrated authors from different genres who support each other.

Pip books a cruise featuring the fabulous seven for work but disaster strikes on the second day when High is found murdered. When Pip realizes the on-board security is completely incompetent she knows she’ll need to be the one to discover who did it. Along wit her friend Nash, the dreamy western author who’s just as charming as the cowboys he writes about. Pip’s composure is beginning to sink, but Nash is there to keep her anchored. Pip uncovers secrets, and twists and turns to uncover this mystery. But will she also find love along with the truth about this murder?

My Review

I’ve previously read The Perfect Rom-Com by Melissa Fergusson and loved it so I was so excited to read another book by her. A romantic mystery is a bit of a different kind of book for me but I really enjoyed it. The story of a group of author friends who write all different genres, are all different ages, and have very different personalities is such a fun concept and something so different. I loved Pip’s character with how hard working and determined she was. It was so nice to see how much all the authors cared about her and wanted her to grow from her horrible ex-boyfriend and succeed as a writer herself. Nash was the perfect character to support Pip in her sleuthing and I loved how he was there for her through it all. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Melissa is such a great writer and always immerses me right into her stories. I rate this book 4/5 stars and recommend it to anyone who likes romantic mysteries and books about authors.

And that’s the end of my Without A Clue by Melissa Ferguson book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments and if you loved it as much as I did. If you’re looking for other books to read check out these reviews: Lights OutSee You At The Summit, and The Windy City Series.
