For years I’ve been trying different ideas to get rid of static such as using static guard or hairspray on my clothes. Using a bounce sheet, gliding a metal hanger over my clothes, etc. But none of them have ever helped so, I just en up putting my hair up and/or changing my clothes.
The first step I took to figure out what I need to do to stop the static was to figure out why it was happening. In my case it’s the dryness. Alberta gets very dry, especially in the winter. Because the air is so dry it makes my skin really dry as well.
Then I figure out that there’s static because my hair or clothes are touching my dry skin. The only way to fix this is with moisturizer. I always moisturize after I shower and then I have moisturizer with me at work and apply throughout the day to my arms, stomach, hands, and back.
Using moisturizer very often helps to prevent the static and if there is static just using moisturizer fixes the problem.
And there is #1 Tip for Getting Rid of and Preventing Static. Once I learned this one trick it was an absolute savior for me in the winter time. Hope it works for you too.

This article is very interesting. Static is a real struggle and not very often mentioned on media. So thanks!
Omg I HATE my skin because it is so dry. I started using Dove’s moisturizing body soap and it helps a little bit. I also heard loofahs can help! However, I do need to be much better about moisturizing! Great tips!!!

I love that it turned out to be such a simple solution! This time of year is so dry that I keep a bottle in every room and 4 or 5 travel size ones in my purse!
What I always do for a quick option you just splash water on to your dress.
