10 Things that Exploded my blog Traffic

10 Things That Exploded My Blog Views

The question a lot of bloggers are wondering is how you can get more traffic to your blog. In this post I will let you know 10 things that exploded my blog views.

Pinterest

We’re going to start off with the largest contributor to the things that exploded my blog views. A lot of people think that Pinterest is just another social media platform that they will struggle with. However, Pinterest is actually more of a search engine than anything else. To start with Pinterest you need to change your account to a business account, verify your website, install rich pins and start using Tailwind which I will mention below. All of these you can find more information about in my post “How to use Pinterest to benefit your blog.”

The most important part of Pinterest is the pins. The first thing you need to do is constantly be making new images through Canva. Then you can go onto your description. One of the tips I’ve found the most helpful when writing your pin description is to search the title of your pin in Pinterest and see what comes up for suggested search terms at the top of the screen. This tells you similar words that people use when searching your title so you can add them into your description. Using this approach will help your pin to climb to the top of the search.

If you’re needing a lot of help with Pinterest I took a course a couple years ago and refer back to it often. You can use this link to check out that Pinterest ebook. I couldn’t recommend this ebook anymore because I can get thousands of views a month just from Pinterest.

Planning

Planning out my blog posts and when to work on what has helped me so much! I’m so much more productive this way and get way more done. I’ve started making lists of ideas for blog posts as well as starting to write down some ideas for those posts. This has really helped me in getting my thoughts together for each post and knowing when I should be posting each one.

Google Analytics

Google analytics is such an important tool to have. It gives you all the information you could need from your blog. A lot of the information you would need for you media kit you can find in Google Analytics. If you want to know how to make a media kit you can read that here.

One thing I liked knowing from Google Analytics is how long people stay on your website for. When I first got Google Analytics this is something I really wanted to improve. Just one of the way to improve this is by linking back to your old content in your current posts.

SEO

If you don’t know anything about SEO you need to keep reading this section. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This basically means is your site trust worthy and has useful information. That way search engines know where to rank your website and blog posts on sites such as Google. One way to check how your doing with your SEO is by checking your DA which stands for Domain Authority.  I like to check my DA score on MOZ.

The first way to increase your DA score is to use keywords. Find keywords that make sense with your blog post. The easiest way to do this is through KeySearch. KeySearch is what I use before every blog post to choose my keywords so I know If I can rank for those keywords. Have the keywords in your title (H1) and have titles within your blog post (change them from “paragraph” to “H2”), and in the text of your blog post. Google can pick up on all of these. Next make sure to always link to your old content when you can. Only add in what naturally fits with your blog post but this will also keep readers on your blog for longer. And another quick tip is backlinks. These are links on other websites that lead viewers back to your blog. These can be done by guest posting or commenting on other blog posts and leaving your blog link. The more popular the blog your commenting on the better.

Load Time

Another way you can boost your SEO is by having a faster load time. You can check this on several different sites but I like to use Google. (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/) On this website you can see how they score your page speed on your mobile site and desktop. After using the plugins Smush and Cache for the first time my scores went up over 20 points for mobile and desktop! The Smush plugin will change the size of all your photos making the page able to load faster. The next plugin I got was W3 Total Cache. This has so many ways of how to load your page faster. I used this video to teach me how to use it. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q_V95ip7Pc) Installing these plugins was very quick and simple and as I said before this brought my points up by over 20 so it was completely worth doing and improving my page load speed and SEO along the way.

The last great tip I have for SEO is to download the Yoast SEO plugin. This will help you to learn what to do when writing your posts so the SEO is good and Google will be able to pick up on some key points so your post can rank higher.

Email List

Getting an email list going is very important. These are the people who will be getting the notifications when you have a new post up. You can get people wanting to sign up for your email by using an opt-in. That information and more can be found in this post: “How to use your email to benefit your blog“.

Facebook Groups

When thinking about ways to get views to your blog a lot of people just over look Facebook. Facebook groups can be so beneficial. First off, they are a great place to ask questions because the group is just filled with bloggers who’ve most likely already gone through what you’re going through.

It’s also a great way to get views, followers, comments, and more. I’ve created my own Facebook blogger group for you to join. I constantly have a bunch of threads going on and the group is already at over 400 members! If you want to join you can do that here.

Scheduler (Tailwind)

Another great tip is to use any scheduler you can. The first scheduler I use is right in WordPress. I just use it to schedule my posts. This way I can finish my posts as early as I want and they will just go up on their own. This has actually helped me so much since I started using it.

The next scheduler that I could not recommend enough is Tailwind. Before I got Tailwind I really wasn’t sure if it would be worth. I could not have been more wrong! I used to pin everyday but now I can spend one day working on pins and then I have about 60 pins scheduled everyday for that week. It really frees up my time which I can appreciated. It also have a lot of analytics for you to check out as well as suggests the best times for you to pin. If you don’t have Tailwind already you can click here to get 1 month for free!

Take a Course

A lot of people want to just start their blog and make money right away. This is almost impossible! I definitely recommend buying some sort of course to teach you everything you need to know. I bought two course when I first started and found them extremely helpful! Now that I’ve been blogging for about 2 and a half years I decided to make an ebook over 40 pages long of everything I’ve learned. This includes everything from starting your blog, what’s needed, plugins, getting views, making money, etc. If you want to learn more about that you can find that information here or just purchase here.

Social Media Accounts

There are so many different social media accounts and you have to take advantage of all of them. Make sure you have the link to your blog in the description of all of your accounts. And don’t forget that every social media needs to grow because brands will be looking at everything! After each post make sure to share on all accounts! A tip for Twitter is to include both hashtags (ex: #bloggerstribe) and to tag accounts that will RT your tweets (ex: @sunsetbloggers).

Comment on Other Blogs

Commenting on other blogs is a great way to get views. I actually get quite a few views on my blog this way and it also helps your SEO. So get out there and support other bloggers.

And those are all my tips for things that exploded my blog views. Be sure to work on each of these to get all you can for views.
