While staying at home it’s important to stay occupied in any way that makes you happy because it’s very easy to get upset and depressed during this time. I have a list of tons of ways to stay occupied at home that I will be sharing with you.

1. Netflix
2. Amazon Prime Video
3. Books

I’ve read quite a few great books recently and read quite a few since I’ve had the extra time. Some of the books I’ve read recently are The Kissing Booth, The Harry Potter Series, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Girl Wash Your Face.

4. Cook
5. Bake

I absolutely love to bake but it’s hard to find the time. You may not know this about me but I actually went to a year course of Pastry School. Now with all this extra time I’ve been baking a lot more. I’ve already made banana bread a few times and cookies and I would love to make a cake or some cupcakes as well.

6. Go Through Closet

Going through my closet is something I definitely want to do. Find some clothes I don’t want anymore that I can donate and make room in my closet. I like to do this every spring and fall anyway as I move my clothes in or out for the new season.

7. Puzzles

Something my fiance and I have been doing lately is getting into some puzzles. This is great because they take some concentration and definitely takes a lot of time so you don’t have to worry about occupying yourself during that time.

8. Board Games

Board games are a must for me and my fiance! There are so many different ones we have so I will name off a couple of my favorites for you here: 5 crowns, You’ve Got Crabs, Yahtzee, Cockroach Poker, Catan, and Sorry.

9. Clean Junk Drawer

Cleaning out your junk drawer is something we all have on our to do list but never seem to do. If you’re a person who likes lists like I do then check out my blog post on all kinds of lists to make.

10. Clean Out Fridge

This is something that if you’re anything like me you are constantly putting off. So the thing I want to do someday soon is take everything out of my fridge, check due dates, and clean the entire inside of the fridge.

11. Yoga

When we are home more often we are often sitting and laying around. This is not good for your body so doing yoga every now and then will do so much good for your body. I’ve definitely noticed how much better I feel after doing some yoga.

12. Home Workout
13. Stretching
14. Planting Vegetables
15. Adult Coloring Book

I’ve found my anxiety in the past couple weeks has been pretty bad with everything going on. I started using my adult coloring book and found it actually really helps to keep my mind off of everything and give me a break from my bad anxiety.

16. Make Your Bed
17. Open Blinds
18. Facetime/Zoom

Talking to your friends and family during this time is so incredibly important. I’ve had a couple group video chats with groups of friends and my big extended family. Before it I really didn’t realize how much I needed it but after I felt so much better.

19. Learn A New Language
20. Listen To Podcasts
21. Start A Blog

If you’ve ever thought about starting a blog now is a great time to start and learn everything you need to. I use BlueHost for my hosting site and have a discount if you use this link.

22. DIY Crafts
23. Video Games
24. Bath

Back to the sore muscles aspect of sitting around at home all the time, a bath can also be something to help with that. It’s also really relaxing. I love to use a bath bomb, bubbles, and put something on Netflix while I lay in the tub.

25. Face Mask
26. YouTube
27. Foster An Animal

Shelters are always looking for fosters to help out. If you’re going to be home anyway you may as well help out an animal who is in need to a temporary home while they are on the search for their forever home.

28. Journal
29. Organize Tupperware
30. De-clutter

This comes along with the time for spring cleaning. I’m sure there’s something you need to de-clutter in your house whether it’s a drawer, a room, or the cabinet in the bathroom, there is always something you can work on.

31. Paint
32. Learn A New Skill
33. Make A Budget

Now would be a great time to workout a budget. Especially when fund might be a little tight. It’s a great idea to know how much money you need for bills and how much you can put towards savings or a trip.

And those are all my ideas for ways to stay occupied at home. I hope you are staying healthy and safe during this time.
