Plot

Lucy is a tourist on PEI for the first time. Felix is the local who shows her a good time. The problem is, Lucy didn’t know Felix is her best friends younger brother. Lucy and Felix have unreal chemistry but vow to never repeat that night again for too many reasons to count. Easier said than done.

Each year Lucy escapes to PEI with her best friend Bridget. Lucy’s looking for oysters, beach walks, coastal air, to spend time with her best friend, and not to end up in Felix’s bed, again.

When Bridget suddenly flees Toronto to PEI a week before her wedding, Lucy has no choice but to follow her best friend. Lucy only has two goals. To help her friend through crisis, and to resist the man she’s never been able to stay away from.

Quotes

“It’s how I learned that the families we make are as significant as the ones we’re born into. It’s how I learned that the greatest loves are not always romances.”

“Live your life for you, and no one else.”

“Opportunities don’t fall in your lap because you want them to. You have to work to make them happen.”

“Everything that’s worth having is some trouble.”

Review

This is the third Carley Fortune book I’ve read and I loved the other two so I had high hopes for this one. It absolutely exceeded my expectations and I loved it. It was so nostalgic to read about PEI because that’s where I grew up. I could vividly picture the places Carley wrote about and it made me want to take a trip home. I haven’t read too many best friend’s brother romances but after reading this one I think I have a new trope that I love and want to read similar books.

Felix and Lucy were such fun character’s to read about and to watch their will they, won’t they love story. I also loved the friendship and found family aspect of Lucy and Bridget’s friendship. They really meant everything to each other and you could feel like portrayed through the book with ease.

This was a great summer read and easily one of my favourite books of the year. Anything Carley Fortune is an instant read for me. I rated this book 4/5 stars and would recommended it to any romance lovers looking for a summer read.

And that’s the end of my This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments and if you loved it as much as I did.
