Carley is also an award winning journalist and has worked as an editor for 15 years before writing her first book Every Summer After. Writing a book had been a long ambition for Carley and she finally decided to start writing this book in July 2020. This book takes place in Barry’s Bay which is where Carley moved to at eight years old and grew up there. Carley now lives in Toronto with her husband and two sons.

Plot

Frankie and George have been best friends since they were eight years old. Both passionate, impulsive, and headstrong—they’ve always clashed . . . and come back together. Until now. My Review

Carley Fortune is easily a top three author of mine so I was so excited to read her new book. This book is the perfect definition of a childhood friends to lovers story and I loved every second of it. The two best friends taking a romantic trip together after her fiance leaves her the morning of her wedding is a recipe for a book I won’t be able to put down. I love a book where he falls first and harder so knowing George always loved Frankie and seeing that through the years was so sweet. I loved seeing Frankie’s awakening to what she really wanted in her life and the love she had for George coming to light. Their connection was so perfect and I loved their growth together. This was another perfect book by Carley and I rate it 5/5 stars. If you love childhood friends to lovers, he falls first, slow burn, and forced proximity, then you’ll love this book.
