Meghan Quinn is a New York Times, #1 Amazon, and USA Today best selling author. She’s also a wife, an adoptive mother and a huge peanut butter lover. Meghan is known for her romantic comedies and contemporary romances that bring the heat and the humour. She’s the queen of slipping in the humour when you’re not expecting it.
Plot
They’re just friends. At least, that’s what she thinks. Him? He has other plans. Bennett Brinkman is San Francisco baseball’s golden boy-focused, disciplined, and very bad at ignoring the one woman he shouldn’t want. Falling for his sister’s best friend was inevitable, even though she’s known him since he was all gangly elbows, bad haircuts, and teenage awkwardness…and still insists on seeing him that way.
Bower knows exactly why wanting Bennett is a terrible idea. She’s fiercely loyal to her best friend and well aware that crossing this particular line could blow everything up. But when she moves into Bennett’s apartment building, that “just friends” boundary begins to blur in the most tempting ways. The banter comes fast. The sparks come faster. And pretending it’s “no big deal” is getting ridiculous.
As feelings get messier and attraction turns undeniable, Bennett and Bower must decide if risking their family ties is worth chasing the love that’s been in front of them all along.
My Review
Since reading Just For The Cameras I’ve been anxiously awaiting the next book in this series. And luckily, Meghan Quinn is an absolute machine so I didn’t need to wait too long for Bennett’s story. Based on the last book, we knew that Bennett had a crush on his sister’s best friend but I wasn’t prepared for how down bad, pathetically in love he would be and I loved every second of it. This book is the blueprint for he falls first and harder and I don’t think another MMC will ever be able to compare in this category. Bower was so oblivious to Bennett’s years long crush and I think that made it so much better. She always saw him as a friend but when they started spending more time together things slowly changed and she say him differently than how she’s seen him all these years. Meghan Quinn is always so good at writing humour but Bower explaining what was happening during the baseball game while knowing nothing about baseball had me absolutely cackling. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more and now I can’t wait for O.C.’s book. I loved this book so much and rate it 5/5 stars. If you love he falls first, age gap, and friends to lovers romance then you’ll love this book.
