Christmas Bucket List

Watch Christmas movies

Some of my all time favorite movies are actually Christmas movies so I’m really excited to be able to watch them all again. I’ve actually made a post called “25 Days of Christmas Movies” if you want to watch them all with me this year. I would also love to hear your suggestions of your favorite Christmas movies in the comments below.

Make a wreath

One thing I’ve always wanted to do is make my own Christmas wreath. That way I know it will have all the elements I want on it and it’ll be fun to make one myself. I’m hoping to have a little DIY day with some friends to make these.

Go skating

Growing up I was skating tons every winter because I was in figure skating, ringette, and/or hockey. But now as an adult I don’t play those sports anymore. I’m hoping to get outside on a lake in a cute park near where I live to do some skating and hopefully doing that with some hot chocolate as well.

Put lights on the house

I’m really excited to put lights up on our house. It’s one of my favorites parts about Christmas. I also really want to get some reindeer or something to put in the yard and just hope they don’t get buried with snow.

Look at Christmas lights

One thing I love to do around Christmas time is get a hot chocolate, turn on the Christmas radio station and drive around looking at all the great Christmas lights. I really gets me in that Christmas mood and some people have some really amazing displays.

Baking

If you know anything about me then you’ll know I love to bake. I actually went to pastry school a few years ago so I’m always looking for new recipes to try out. And some of my favorite recipes to make are Christmas cookies. There are just so many great recipes around this time of year to choose from.

Send Christmas cards

I love to receive Christmas cards. And being that a lot of our (my boyfriend and I) friends and family don’t live close to us so I would love to send them some Christmas cards this year so they know we are thinking of them.

Go to a Christmas festival or market

There are so many different events going on at Christmas such as markets, festivals, and craft fairs. I definitely want to make my way to a few of these this year.

Make a homemade hot chocolate

I’m a huge lover of a great cafe hot chocolate. But, I can’t always afford to buy a really good one. I want to try out a few homemade recipes to find a really good one I can make myself all the time.

Donate a toy or book to a child

There are tons of opportunities to donate around this time of year. Something I really want to do is donate a book or toy to an organization that will give it to a child that won’t be able to receive a present otherwise.

Make a gingerbread house

Something else I do every year is decorate a gingerbread house. I don’t usually end up eating them I just think it’s a fun activity to decorate them with your friends and family.

Wear lots of Christmas sweaters

I love to wear sweaters around this time of year, they are just so comfy and warm. I’m really excited to wear some great Christmas sweaters this year too.

And those are all the things on my Christmas bucket list this year. What’s on your list this year?

  1. Every year since I can remember my family has gone to a pantomime Christmas play, I always look forward to that!

    1. You definitely should 🙂

  4. Sounds like a lot of fun! I especially like the idea of skating and hot chocolate, that is how I grew up in the Netherlands.
One thing we like to do around Christmas is going out and drive around time looking at all the decorations. We have a local church that goes all out, so if we can we go to there also.
