The Instagram algorithm is constantly changing. However, getting Instagram story views seems to be consistently staying the same. Fortunately, there are only a couple tricks you need to implement to increase your story views and keep them consistently high.
Why Instagram Story Views Are Important
Something you may be wondering about is how important Instagram stories actually are. And the answer to that is very! Stories is where you can post more personal things and your followers can get to know you better. This will actually lead your followers to know you better and want to engage with your posts more. Also, once you reach 10,000 followers you can use the swipe up link. This is a huge step because if you have a website like I do then you can link your posts. Or, if you use affiliate marketing like I do also then you can use the swipe up feature for affiliate links as well.
If you’re wanting to be able to make money online affiliate marketing is a great way to do that. Adding affiliate links to your Instagram stories is an extra place you can try to make money. Therefore, getting those views to your stories is incredibly important to get.
Post Often
Posting to your Instagram stories often may seem a little odd to you but let me explain why this works. I follow over a thousand people on Instagram and if I scroll through the stories it seems like they go on forever. The way Instagram decides what stories to show you first is a mixture of a couple things. The first is the stories that you view most often. They want to show you what they think you want to see so you’ll be on their app longer.
The second way is by posting often. If you only post once your story will get pushed to the back of the lineup of stories and won’t get seen. However, when you post another story, Instagram will bring your story back up to the top of the stories on your followers dashboards. Now, as far as how many to post a day I would say to aim less than twenty but more than five. If you have more than twenty stories people may get annoyed and not want to watch anymore. Less than 5 stories and you may not be at the top of the stories dashboard often enough to get your stories seen.
Call To Action In Your Story
My last tip for how to increase story views on Instagram is that Instagram decides where to put your stories is based on the engagement you get on them. If your story has no replies or polls for example then it won’t show them to as many people. However, if you have call to actions in your stories such as polls, questions, etc. and people use them than Instagram will show your story to more of your followers. Any kind of call to action helps but I’ve found that the polls bring the most engagement for me.
To give you an example of how important this is I tried something out on my stories. For reference at the time of trying this out I had about 12,000 followers. I posted a single story with no call to actions in 24 hours and that’s it. The story only got about 250 views on it. Then I tried posting about 6 stories in a row all with a poll on them and couple more stories after without polls but different call to actions like hashtags or locations. These stories got over 4,000 views each with hundreds of votes on the polls and some answers to the stories. So as you can see engagement on stories is so important to be seen by your followers as well as posting often can help to get them brought to the front of the dashboard.
What To Post
Now with the information of posting often and posting with call to actions you may be wondering what you can post. My best advice is to try and show updates of your day. You can show what you ate, what your doing, where you go in the day. You can also add polls like do you like this type of food I’m eating, do you like hiking, etc. There should be some kind of call to action you can add to most stories to keep your stories engagement up.
Also, if you struggle to make your stories look good and engaging then I’ve got you covered for that too. I started my Etsy shop in May 2021 which includes Instagram story templates that you can use to make your account look more professional so make sure to check out my Etsy shop for those.
I hope this post on how to increase story views on Instagram helped you. If you need other help with Instagram such as getting followers, increasing engagement rate, and making money on Instagram then I have you covered for that too. I created an Instagram Ebook after I went from 3,000 followers to 10,000 followers in about 6 months. You can get more information about my Instagram Ebook here. Some amazing tips! I find having polls and clickable things in my stories really help me! Story views are so volatile though! Sometimes I get like 1.5k and sometimes I only get 300!

Love this babe! Super helpful. I don’t really do polls because I hate participating in other people’s Lol but I can see how important it is. I’ll try to incorporate it more. I’ve also subbed to your YT channel 🙂 Thanks for sharing xx
