Instagram Tips and How I Edit my Pictures

Everyone wants their Instagram to look good and be successful so I’ve come up with a few Instagram tips to share and I’m going to let you know how I edit my pictures for Instagram and for my blog.

The first app I use is Retouch Vogue. I don’t always use this app; I mostly only use it just for selfies (which is the picture I will be editing for this demonstration). I use the blemish tool for anything that needs to be fixed on my face. I usually use it to hide any pimples or under eye circles and sometimes for flyaway hairs. There is also a teeth whitener that I find helpful. Also this app is free!

The next app I use to edit my pictures is VSCO. I just use the free version of this app and use filter C1. You can pay $19.99 a year for this app and get TONS of other filters but for now I’m just going to stick with the few free ones. What’s so great about this app is everything else you can do with your photo. The most helpful tool is brightness or exposure. I find I’m just more drawn to pictures that are brighter so I think that the brightness tool is great! I do use about half of the other tools as well just to tweak the photo slightly more to my liking.

Let me know how you like the finished edited picture.

Now on to Instagram! What makes your feed look really great is to have a consistent theme. This ties all your photos together and makes your Instagram feed look great. In case you don’t know what I mean when I say theme, (I had no clue the first time I heard that term used haha) I will give you a quick explanation. An Instagram theme is using the same filter so all your photos have that similar look. Something else to make your blog look great is good camera quality. This really makes the difference in your pictures. Trust me on this, I was looking back at old pictures that I took on older phones and all I could think was wow thank goodness the quality on phones has gotten so much better!!

Lastly some things you can do to try and build your following base is post your location and on your photos and use hashtags. Using these helps other people find you and you can also find others this way. Post consistently and be active with your followers and the people you follow as well. Finally, just have fun with it.

  1. I’ve never managed to get the hang of VSCO! I always feel so overwhelmed by it. This post made me want to give it a second go!
