If you know anything about me then you know I love to hike especially in the mountains in Jasper National Park. One of my favorite hikes I’ve ever been on is the Sulphur Skyline Trail hike, so let me tell you more about it.

Sulphur Skyline Trail Mountain Peak
Johnny and I did this hike in the summer of 2018. I did an entire Jasper travel guide on our trip so check that out. So obviously this hike is in Jasper Alberta, one of my favorite places in the world! We decided to go to Jasper National Park the weekend of my birthday and were looking for a hike to do while we were there. One of the main reasons we decided to do this hike is because this is a mountain peak hike. We’d never done a mountain peak hike before and while researching we learned that this was one of the easiest ones to complete.
How Long Is Sulphur Skyline Trail?
If you’re going to do this hike you have to be prepared for to take several hours to complete! When looking online it said that the Sulphur Skyline trail would last about 4-6 hours. I used my Fitbit so I can let you know that we finished in just under 4 hours. It took us about 3 hours to get up and 1 hour to get down. If you decide to go on this hike make sure to bring plenty of food and water with you because you will be on this hike for a while! Also, keep in mind this is very steep because it is a mountain peak hike so be prepared for the hike to take several hours and take more water than you think you’d need.
Parking Near This Hike
I’ll be honest parking at this hike isn’t the easiest. We went first thing in the morning so parking was fine for us. However, when we left we could see that the parking lot was completely full and people were parking down the road which really doesn’t have a shoulder to be parked on! I would recommend going to this hike first thing in the morning so you don’t have to worry about difficult parking. And for the fact that if you do this hike in the summer it won’t be too hot in the morning.
Hot Springs
One of the best parts about this hike is that it shares the parking lot with the Miette Jasper hot springs! We decided to go to the hot springs after our hike and was it every relaxing! It felt so nice to relax in the hot springs after a 4 hour hike and I’m sure my muscles really appreciated it! If you didn’t know, some of the benefits of soaking in hot springs are better blood circulation, reduced stress, better sleep, pain relief, and it can heal certain skin problems. As you can tell by this list it’s definitely worth trying out the hot springs while in Jasper after this hike.
Overall
Overall the Sulphur Skyline Trail hike in Jasper National Park is an absolutely amazing hike with beautiful views that I would 100% recommend. I would for sure do this hike again, 5/5 rating for sure. If you’re going to Jasper Alberta make sure the Sulphur Skyline Trail hike is on your list of must do hikes.
