How To Get There

Let’s start off this list of things to do in Positano Italy with how to get there. The closest airport is actually in Naples Italy. So, from Naples you can take a train, boat, bus, or drive to Positano.

Where To Stay

Next up I want to talk about some possible places you can stay at in Positano Italy. Some popular locations are: Hotel II Gabbiano, Hotel Eden Roc Suites, Hotel Palazzo Murat, and Hotel Poseidon.

II Sentiero Degli Dei

The first thing on this list of things to do in Positano Italy is a hike also known as The Path of the Gods because of its amazing views. The path starts in Agerola and is 7.8km and takes around three hours to complete. This hike is considered easy. So, if you have time to fit this hike in make sure you do for the beautiful views at the top. Also, if you’re not very familiar with hiking you can use a licensed guide through Get Your Guide to make you feel more comfortable.

Fornillo Beach

Fornillo beach is a great spot to hang out for the day and relax in the water. It has great views of the sea and the mountains around. There are also chairs, umbrellas, and towels you can rent as well as restaurants near by. This is a rocky beach, not a sandy beach so water shoes might be a good idea so your feet are more comfortable, also, the rocks can get hot in the sun.

Vespa Tour

Another fun idea is to do a vespa tour around Postiano and the Amalfi Coast. There are so many great tours available through Get Your Guide but this is the one that I think is the best price for such a great long tour.

Things to do in Positano Italy

Spiaggia Grande

This next beach has both a paid and free spot. The free spot is a little small and can get quite crowded. If you’re going to spend the entire day there I would suggest the paid part with the chairs. The sand here is a little coarse and not very soft so water shoes may be a good idea for this location as well. The water at this beach is great and you can view the cliffs while you’re there and watch the boats in the water.

Arienzo Beach Club

The Arienzo Beach Club is another beach, however, this one is fun because it has it’s own restaurant and bar. This is great because you can just stay there all day and they have everything you need. The reviews on this beach club are all so high and they say it is worth the money and feels like a luxury experience so put this spot on your list!

Wander The City

This next idea may be a little odd but wander the city! You never know what you’ll find walking up and down the streets. It’s also great for shopping. There are so many little shops you can find with one of a kind items no one else will have unless they go to the same little shop in Positano that you did.

Grotta dello Smeraldo

This next activity on my list of things to do in Positano Italy is the Grotto dello Smeraldo which is basically a cave. This cave is partially under water so you can take boats through to look at the cave. The cave was formed naturally and has gradually filled with water. What’s cool about this cave is that it can be accessed by both sea and land. The most crowded time for visiting this cave is of course in the summer on the weekends so try to work around that when visiting because it is so worth it.

Snorkel Or Scuba Dive

Another fun thing you can do in Positano Italy is to snorkel or scuba dive. This is such a fun experience and Positano is a great place to do it. If you want to book through Get Your Guide you can book snorkeling here.

Things to do in Positano Italy

Museo Archeologico Romano

The next activity to do is a museum with a twist. This museum is actually a church with an archeological dig underneath where you can view everything they’ve found. If you’re into history this is an absolute must see! What’s cool about this is that the dig is ongoing so you can go back years later and see what else they’ve found since your last visit.

Miniaci Art Gallery

The next spot I think you should check out is an art gallery. This art gallery has so many cool pieces and you can also purchase a one of a kind piece at this art gallery to take home with you as a reminder of your trip. This art gallery is also on a cute little street with vines all over and other great shops so make sure you check out the shops as well.

Things to do in Positano Italy

Church Of Santa Maria Assunta

One thing I love to find in Europe is old churches. This church is definitely old and was once part of a monastery. Make sure you put this on your list of things to see because churches are so beautiful.

Boat Tour

Now onto what I think is my favorite on this list and it is to go on a boat tour! Positano has so many great views of the ocean but it’s so much better to be on the ocean and view the city. There are so many great tours available that will take you out for the day touring around and some even offer activities such as snorkeling.

Fiordo Di Furore

And last on this list of things to do is Fiordo Di Furore which is a small rocky beach in Positano. The reason I wanted to include this spot is because there are two large rocks on either side of this beach with a beautiful bridge that joins them. It’s just so beautiful there with the view of the bridge and a great spot to spend the day or just stop by for a quick picture.

And those are all my ideas on my list of things to do in Positano Italy. If you’re looking for inspiration on more travel in Europe then check out my posts European travel bucket list, things to do in London, and things to do in Paris.
