Lights
I love to look at Christmas lights. I love to drive around neighborhoods and find some beautiful light displays to look at. My favorite lights are the warm white lights. I find they just make the space feel warm and cozy. Colorful lights are also really great as well. I like these types more so on outside of houses. I love when the house look like they went for a really fun look.
Music
Decorations
Christmas decorations are great! They really just get you in the Christmas spirit and excited for the holiday. My favorite decoration is hands down the Christmas tree. I can really see myself being that person that has multiple Christmas trees in their house in the future haha.
Family
Baking
I love to bake! I actually went to Pastry School at the Culinary Institute of Canada. Around the holiday season there are so many great recipes and designs you can do for holiday baking. I’ve already made a few recipes and I can’t wait to do many more!
Markets/Craft Fair
Gift Giving
Ugly Christmas sweater parties
Snow
Hot Drinks
Movies
Gingerbread house
Another great part about the holiday season is making gingerbread houses. There are so many great kits you can buy and I make one every year. You can also make your own gingerbread for the gingerbread house but I just like to buy my own because I probably wouldn’t end up eating it anyway.
Charity
Christmas really is the time to give to those less fortunate. My family has a tradition that every Christmas my grandpa gives his kids $100 to buy food and then we all donate what we bought together to our church. This is definitely a tradition I’m really sad that I miss out on while being away from home.
And there are some of my favorite parts of Christmas. I would love to know what you love the most as well.

Great post Brianna! My favourite thing about Christmas is definitely the time spent with my family. The banter at the dinner table.. The food.. But not the heat though.. Where we are, Christmas is in the middle of scorching summer.. Water fight party anyone?? But it’s all good fun nonetheless.
By far Christmas is my favorite holiday as well. What I love the most is family time and cooking all the great holiday recipes. I love to play games and laugh with my family and then see how much they’re enjoying my food. The best!
Christmas music!! Love how it instantly puts me in a jolly mood. This was an adorable post
Aw yes I love all of these things too. I’ve just come back from a mini break in Edinburgh and I really do feel so much more festive after a good mooch around the lovely Christmas Market and seeing all the buildings decorated beautifully.
A lovely collection of thoughts about Christmas…thanks for sharing! I showed my wife and one of my daughters and they loved it too! Good work.
I’m such a scrooge at Christmas, I don’t know why! I think I need to read more posts like this. Maybe it’ll help me learn to like it and get more in the spirit!

Thanks for sharing Briana. This post was so beautiful to read. Keep the good work! …
I’m not technically supposed to celebrate Christmas anymore if I were to follow what I learned about some of the history behind it, but since I’m still in spiritual transition, I am grieving the idea of letting go of it. I still visit family and caved with watching Christmas movies, for instance. 🙂
