If you’re wanting to become a full time blogger one day getting blog views is very important. I will be teaching you all the main ways to get blog views so your blog can excel.

SEO
First off let’s start with the importance of SEO. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and basically is how search engines like Google will know where your post will rank on Google. So basically the better your SEO is the more chance you have of people organically finding your website. SEO is also monitored by DA which stands for Domain Authority. You can check where you stand on websites such as MOZ. Through this it’s a little easier to tell if you’re improving or not.
There are so many things you can do to improve your SEO so I will give you a quick run down on the most important parts. The first way to learn about SEO and the easiest way is by installing the plugin Yoast SEO if you use WordPress for your blog. This plugin will teach you things you need to know about SEO and readability and will help you on your way to getting those organic searches.
Another important plugin you can use to help your SEO is installing a broken link checker. Broken links are viewed as spammy will will make your website seem untrustworthy so this is a must. This is also something that you need to keep up on regularly.
Next up would be learning to master keywords. I started using this site to help myself learn what keywords I should be using. The picture below shows some keyword suggestions for when I search the term “blog views.” The results are keywords you can include in your blog post. Now you may be wondering where do I put my keywords? Keywords should be in the title of your blog, subtitles (H2, H3, etc.), your paragraph and your hashtags. One thing to remember is only include these keyword where they fit not just thrown in anywhere.
If you want some more help with keywords then I would suggest KeySearch. My favorite thing about KeySearch is that it helps you understand which keywords you can rank for. KeySearch will give your website a rank and suggest that you stay at or under a certain number. When you search keywords it will have that same type of number. That way you know if it’s realistic for you to rank for that specific keyword or if you should be trying something else.
Social Media
There are some great social media platforms you can use to get blog views from. The first one we will take a look at is Instagram. Once you have 10,000 followers getting views from Instagram becomes easier as you can use the swipe up link to bring your followers to your blog. If you need help learning to grow your Instagram account I’ve grown mine by about 6,000 in 6 months. You can learn more about that here. If you don’t have 10,000 followers yet you can still get views to your blog from Instagram. I personally am put off by the look of a picture that just says new post. A better way to let your followers know about a new post is in the description of one of your posts or in your stories, and then letting them know to go to the link in your bio. I also have a post about how to increase your Instagram story views which will help you get blog views as well from there.
The next social media platform to get views from is Twitter. Twitter is full of so many bloggers and is so great for interacting with them and the rest of your followers. There are hashtags you can look up like bloggers tribe which is where you can find threads to put the link to your blog and find other blogs to read as well. I also let my followers know every time I have a new blog post as well.
The last social media platform you can use to get blog views is from Facebook. You can make a Facebook page for your followers to find you on but the best way to use Facebook for your blog is by joining groups. Group boards are a great place to ask any questions you may have and also have tons of threads where you can discover other bloggers and they can discover your blog as well. I’ve actually created my own blogging group and at the time I’m writing this post there are about 500 members! You can use this link to join us and get those blog views you need.
Pinterest has recently made some changes to how their algorithm works so I want to keep you informed on how you should be running your account. Firstly, Pinterest has had an issue with accidentally marking good accounts as spam. If you find your impressions have dropped and can’t seem to get it to climb back up it’s worth checking with Pinterest.
The biggest thing you need to change is the amount of fresh pins you have. Pinterest has made it very clear that they prioritize fresh pins over you repinning your own content or others content. You can still repin but I would try to keep it at 10% or less and focus on fresh pins instead. If you’re repinning one of your own make sure it’s only your top performing pins and only repin to a maximum of 5 boards. I find the easiest way to keeping on top of creating new pins is to make 10-20 new pins through Canva for a certain blog post at a time and then move onto a new blog post.
Now you may be wondering how you should be posting all these pins for the same post. Tailwind is a Pinterest scheduling tool that you can use. To upload fresh pins go to your drafts and click upload image. Through this you can add your title, description and schedule to a board of your choice. Keep in mind that Tailwind will automatically use your home page as the link for that pin so don’t forget to change that link to your specific blog post. Once you do this you can shuffle your queue so they don’t all go out one after another. Keep in mind you should only have a maximum of 5 of same links go out in 1 day. You should also keep your total pins at a maximum of 30 a day. You can use this link to try Tailwind for 1 month for FREE.
I’ve learned so much about Pinterest and a lot of it I learned from Ell in her Pinterest course. If you want to check it out you can do that here.
Interact With Your Audience
Interacting with your followers through your blog and social media platform is very important. It shows your followers you care and builds that trust needed for making money blogging. Make sure you reply to every comment you get on your blog and all your messages on your social media channels as often as you can.
Emails
Growing your email list is very important because this is where you can let your followers know about your new posts. Some ways to get people to sign up for your email is by having a sign up form on the sidebar of your blog and at the end of each post. You can also have a pop up plugin for your blog. I can’t stress this enough if you have a pop up don’t have it come up immediately. I can’t tell you the amount of blogs I’ve been on that as soon as I get on there is a pop up to sign up for their email list. If I haven’t read a single word there is no way I will be signing up for your email list. However, if it’s delayed to when I’m enjoying a blog post I may sign up.
Another way to get people to want to sign up for your email is by having an opt-in. These can be freebies such as printables, ebooks, etc. For my email sign up you receive a 5 day blog challenge which has proven to be well liked.
Content
Last up is your content. You should always choose quality of quantity every time. I think posting once or twice a week is plenty and honestly you don’t even need to post that often. So far this year I’ve been posting less often but because I’ve been promoting my blog better, specifically though Pinterest my views are much higher.
Make sure that your content is written well, easy to read and have some great quality pictures. Use your SEO that you’ve learned and you’ll have great content for your readers to enjoy.
Now that’s you’ve learned how to get views you may want to look into making money. If you want to make some money online check out my friend Shea’s post on How I Make an Extra $1000 Every Month Doing Side Hustles.
And those are my top tips on ways to get blog views. Follow these steps and you’ll do great.
