How to use Facebook to Benefit your Blog

How to use Facebook to Benefit your Blog

Most bloggers don’t know that Facebook can be a great source of traffic for your blog. About a year ago I joined some Facebook Blogger groups, made my own and now as long as I’m consistent with them I see lots of traffic!

Join Facebook Groups

There are so many Facebook blogger groups out that that you can join to help you grow your blog. I have a group called Bloggers Helping Bloggers, you can join that group here. In this group I share threads for things such as blogging, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and more. In these threads you can get help given to you as well as help out others in the group. I post at different times for each of the categories so keep an eye on your notifications to see when you can comment in the thread.
Another group I love is Boss Girl Bloggers. The girl who runs it is so sweet and has so much helpful information when it comes to blogging and motivation. I would definitely suggest checking her out. This group has over 31k members so it’s a great place to ask questions. I’ve learned a lot from asking questions in this group and from reading questions others have asked.

Facebook Page

You can also create your own Facebook page for people to like. I think this is a good idea so people can be up to date with your new posts. However, I would focus more on the groups if you had to only choose one. I’ve just gotten such great results with groups so I don’t want anyone to be missing out on them.

Ads

Another way you can use Facebook is by using Facebook ads. I’ve heard people say they are worth it but you have to do it right. You have to pay for them so make sure what your promoting is going to be worth it and the post your bringing these readers to can help you make up the money you spent on the Facebook ad.

Create Your Own Group

Should you start a group
Another way you can use Facebook to your advantage is by making your own Blogger group like I did! Now keep in mind running your own group is A LOT of work. I’m on it everyday and I still feel like I could be doing more. If you decide you have enough time for your own group I think that’s great! Your group ends up being your audience and you get to make those personal connections that are just so important. Now the first thing you need to do is make it so that if someone wants to post in the group it has to be approved by you. Unfortunately you will get those people who will join and instantly try to post in the group with something along the lines of “give me money” or “click on my ads.” But if you approve the posts first your members will never see this and you can remove this person right away.
How to run it

Next set up your rules for the group itself and always have the rules in each thread so your members know what they should and shouldn’t be doing. As for finding members for your group I found a lot of mine on Twitter and also get a lot from my blog as well. Every now and then I’ll post the link to my Facebook group on Twitter asking people to join. As for my blog it’s the Facebook link on my sidebar and it’s linked at the bottom of every post. The Last Great way you can find members is through Pinterest. Make some great pins and pin them to your relevant boards and you’ll see the requests come in.

And those are all my best tips for getting views to your blog from Facebook. Facebook can be a great way to get views to your blog if you use it right so be sure to join my Facebook group to get yourself started.

  1. Great Post !!
I’m glad you’re getting great results from FB because I really don’t have the best of luck when it comes to that particular platform lol not with my blog anyway!

  2. I love these tips, I do admit, I have struggled with Facebook lately, a little bit of social media overwhelm. Groups are always great, I feel like I learned so much just by keeping up with a few. I did try to come up with a strategy for FB these past two weeks, and I can see it starting to slowlyyyy work. I guess I shouldn’t give up on it yet:)

  3. Thanks so much for your help! I have joined a few groups and have found my traffic has increased a little so far! I try to stay active but sometimes life gets in the way. One of my goals for this year is being more active with social media. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Great info thanks
