Author

Liana Cincotti has recently finished her Bachelor of Science and is working in marketing communications. She loves to eat cookie dough ice cream with her friends and read romance books in her spare time. Liana originally self published her novels Don’t Be In Love and Picking Daisies On Sundays but this book and her third booking coming soon have been picked up by Orion Fiction in the UK and Forever Publishing in the US.

Plot

Daniella Daisy Maria always wanted an all consuming love, just like the ones she watched in rom-coms every Friday night. What she didn’t expect was to find it with her childhood best friend Levi. She tried to keep her feelings at bay because you’re not supposed to feel this kind of love for your best friend. But all that ended when she found out Levi didn’t feel the same at prom and vowed to never see him again to protect her heart.

Four years later Dani sees Levi again in a crowded bar just as perfect as she remembered him to be. And when he asked her to be his fake girlfriend to his sister’s wedding she couldn’t help but accept. This was a chance to mend their friendship and undo the decision she made to stay away from him.

With the possibility of being rejected by her dream grad school looming it’s shocking that it’s the least of Dani’s worries. With every staged romantic interacting she feels the same feelings from high school bursting at the seams and wonders if maybe she should have said no to protect herself from another heartbreak from the same boy.

Quotes

“I tried to stop loving you, but along the way, you found your way into the sound of my laugh, the style of my writing, and the threads of my clothes.”

“I want to be noticed in a crowded room. I want to be the only person in a crowded room. I want to be wanted, truly wanted, and desired. I want to laugh and to sing and to dance with someone and not feel self-conscious over it because I love them and I’m confident that they love me. I want to be touched and kissed and held because I’ve forgotten what it feels like…and yet, I think I deserve it.”

“I’ll buy you flowers every day for the rest of my life if it makes you this happy.”

“I want an all-consuming love. Not one that suffocates, but one that makes me so thankful that my chest feels physically overwhelmed with emotion. To have this silent, unspoken communication with a person through touch and gazes.”

My Review

Picking Daisies on Sundays has been on my TBR for a while and now that I’ve read it I wish I would have sooner. I listened to the audiobook and absolutely flew through it. This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. It was the perfect childhood friends, second chance romance, and the fake dating being executed perfectly was the cherry on top. Dani was such a fun character to read from her POV and I loved to see her growth both on her own and because of having Levi back in her life. Levi is the perfect male MMC and I couldn’t get enough of his actions and the words he spoke to Dani. I also loved the voice from the audiobook. Her voice was very calming when I was so engulfed in the book and tearing up at the end. I’m honestly in mourning that I’ve finished this book and already want to read it again. This will definitely be a reread for me at some point and is easily one of my favourite books of the year so I have to rate it 5/5 stars.

And that’s the end of my Picking Daisies On Sundays by Liana Cincotti book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments and if you loved it as much as I did. If you’re looking for other books to read check out these reviews: The Minor Fall, Gold Rush Ranch series, and Offside.
