Author

Jordyn Taylor is a USA Today Bestselling author and former magazine editor currently living in the U.S. but was born and raised in Toronto. Jordyn has written five young adult romances and this is her first adult romance.

Plot

Simone Whittaker has spent the first three decades of her life pretending to be straight. But when the girl she would never call her girlfriend ends their unofficial relationship, Simone decides not to live in fear anymore. Her uptight parents don’t take the news that Simone’s bi very well. However, her viral coming out post accompanied by her new job at the Toronto Rainbow Museum are a great start to her queer adulthood.

However, on Simone’s first day of work, she accidentally ruins a project build by Ryan Foley, the museums gruff and annoyingly hot carpenter, which earns Simone a top spot on his enemies list. When they’re forced to go on a work trip together to Whistler Pride and Ski Festival Simone is determined to not let him ruin her first Pride after coming out as bi. But Ryan keeps surprising her with his thoughtfulness, and vulnerability. Sparks start fly between them on the chairlift, and cozy by the fire but sparks combust after being forced into a one bed hotel room during a winter storm.

But back in Toronto, reality sets back in. Simone is finally free to live her best queer life except, she’s dating a straight guy and being mistaken for straight herself after pretending to be all this time. The pressure builds between Simone’s new identity and the relationship she didn’t see coming causing the what ifs to start invading and causing doubts.

My Review

I was so excited to get to read a book with such specific queer representation. I’m sure this book spoke to so many people needing it and it really had me in my feels as well. The identity difficulties that Simone goes through really hit me and I couldn’t help but feel for her throughout. As far as queer representation this book went above and beyond for me personally. I did like the writing as well and the storyline. The romance between Simone and Ryan I liked as well but I didn’t love it as much as I hoped with how great the rest of the book was. I sometimes have difficulty really feeling the connection with third person perspective so that may have played a part for me here. I still liked the book overall and give it a 3/5 stars and recommend it to anyone who’s looking for queer representation, one bed, and forced proximity romances.

And that’s the end of my See You At The Summit by Jordyn Taylor book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments and if you loved it as much as I did.
