My Review
I’ve heard so many great things about Abby Jimenez books and I have been wanting to start them for a while. But I was not prepared for The Friend Zone to have me crying for about the last ten chapters. It started as a cute forbidden romance between Kristen and Josh. I loved how Kristen was completely herself, never held back what she thought, and her business was so cute. Josh was such a great MMC in the way he knew he liked Kristen from the start and never wavered. He knew how to make Kristen happy and her little quirks. It really is the small things that matter the most. I flew through the last third of the book because of everything that happened and cried through most of it. I was completely shocked and heartbroken. I love a book that really makes me feel and this one definitely did that and had me ready to start the second book in this series immediately. I loved the banter and love stories in this book and rate it 5/5 stars. This was a great start to the series and I recommend it to anyone who likes friends to lovers, he falls first, and forbidden romance.
After reading about Sloan’s heartbreak in The Friend Zone I had to start The Happy Ever After Playlist immediately once I finished it. I needed her happily ever after and this book didn’t disappoint. Reading about Sloan’s grief and how she really just gave up on her life and everything that made her happy was so difficult. Jason was a great character to bring happiness back into her life along with his dog Tucker. They clicked so fast and you could tell they were just meant to be. Although, they dealt with their fair share of struggles due to Jason’s music career. Reading about Sloan’s doubts was so sad knowing how far she’d come in dealing with her grief and just wanting her to finally be happy again. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and rate it 4/5 stars. If you love a strangers to lovers, he falls first, musician MMC romance then you’ll love this book.
Adrian had a brief appearance in the previous book in this series but I loved his character so I was so excited to read more about him in Life’s Too Short. From the outside Adrian seemed like he had his life together and was happy, but he didn’t realize until he met Vanessa how much he was really missing out on. Vanessa knew there was a good chance she wouldn’t live long, so she treated everyday like it was her last. She wanted to make a difference, live her life to the fullest, and care for her loved ones. Both characters individually were great but I loved them so much together. They were so different but fit so well and really complimented each other. They were exactly what they didn’t know they needed in a partner. This book really had me on the edge of my seat wondering which direction it would go in and I loved it. I rate it 4/5 stars and recommend it to lovers of grumpy/sunshine, neighbours, and friends to lovers romances.
