Christmas Shopping Tips

Christmas Shopping Tips

Let’s be honest, Christmas shopping can be a very stressful time. The hope for this post is that I will be able to provide you with some useful tips to help with the stress and make sure your shopping is successful.

Make a list

A great way to start planning for Christmas shopping is by making a list. I usually just make this list on my phone so it’s always on me and I can add notes to it all the time. When starting this list I add the names of all the people I need to buy for. Then I will start to brainstorm what to get each person and add that next to their name.

Set a budget

Spending at Christmas time can get out of hand before we even realize it. It’s a good idea to set some price limits. I would work up some price limits for you for things such as presents, food, and decoration. This will help to keep you on track.

Wrap everything

Everyone loves to unwrap gifts and the more you wrap the more presents there are! Try to refrain from wrapping things together. The more boxes or bags there are, the more it will look like there are more presents.

Shop online

The malls and stores around Christmas get extremely busy! Anything that I can buy online I will to avoid all that stress. Make sure if you’re going to buy something online that you do it far enough in advance to make sure it arrives long before you need it. There’s nothing worse than having a present you bought for someone not be there on Christmas morning.

Look for sales

A great way to save money is always look in the sale section first. You can do this both online and in store. You may find a perfect present or that perfect Christmas decoration you were looking for and you saved money on it!

Get done early

The best tip I have for you about your Christmas shopping is to start and finish early! The earlier you start the less hectic the stores will be and the more likely chances that you will find everything you need. I think a great goal is to have your Christmas shopping done by the first or second week of December. This way you can enjoy the time leading up to Christmas and all you have to do is wrap your presents. This is the best way to make your Christmas shopping less stressful.

Save in advance

A way to have your bank account not take a hard hit in December is to save up in advance. As we are getting close to Christmas now this tip is a little harder. However, you can still put away money every week to put towards your Christmas shopping. However, if you want to start saving up for next year check out my post “How to Save for Travel.” This post teaches you have to save throughout the year so whatever you are putting your money towards doesn’t all come out of your bank account at once.

And there you have it! My best Christmas shopping tips this year. I hope these tips help you out and you can really enjoy your Christmas.

  1. Great post and at the right time. If you want to be done with Christmas shopping soon this is the perfect time to start. I already started thinking about presents for my friends and I think I will go with DYI this year. Maybe some cookies or cookie jar with dry ingredients for making ones, I also consider making chai for chai latte.

    1. Those sound like great ideas!

  2. I ❤️ 🎄. I don’t finish early bc I don’t have self control and will continue to buy so I just spread it out and wrap all the way until Christmas Eve.

    1. Haha you are definitely not alone!
