Author
Elle Kennedy is an author from Toronto, Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She’s currently a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. She’s also currently working with Amazon Prime to turn the Off Campus book series into a TV show premiering May 2026.
There are quite a few books in this hockey romance universe. All can be read as standalone’s but it makes the most sense to read them in order to understand all the characters better and follow all of their stories accurately. The Elle Kennedy books in order to make the most sense would be the Off-Campus series (The Deal, The Mistake, The Score and The Goal), then the Briar U series (The Chase, The Risk, The Play, The Dare), then Legacy, then the Campus Diaries series (The Graham Effect, The Dixon Rule, The Charlie Method), and finally Love Song.
Plot
After a brutal breakup, college junior Blake Logan escapes to her family’s lake house in Tahoe, determined to shut out the world. Her plan is to stay away from men, drama, and decide what she wants to do with her future. Until Wyatt Graham shows up. He’s four years older and far too good at getting under her skin. Wyatt is the definition of a bad idea with his playboy title. And, he’s the guy who broke her heart when she confessed her crush at sixteen.
With his music career stalled due to no inspiration for new songs, Wyatt has come to Tahoe for inspiration. The last thing he expects is to find that inspiration in Blake. He’s spent years keeping his distance, convinced he’s all wrong for her, but she’s no longer the innocent girl he once knew. She’s confident, captivating, and impossible to ignore. And the tension between them is only growing by the day.
They both know this can’t last, but one reckless kiss turns into another, and soon they’re tangled in something that feels dangerously like more. But with everything stacked against them. Can they make it work? Or should they part ways for good?
My Review
Ever since reading The Deal by Elle Kennedy I have been completely obsessed with this universe she has created. I’m loving reading these next generation books and was so happy that Love Song included Blake Logan and Wyatt Graham, two of the kids from the original group of friends. Blake was such an easy character to love with how sweet she is. I also loved the dynamic between her and her parents. Wyatt was the classic playboy and one of my favourite tropes to read is the playboy who falls hard for the nice girl. Wyatt and Blake were such an unexpected but great couple and now I just want Elle to release more of the next generation books so we can continue on these addictive storylines. I loved this book and rate it 4.5/5 stars. If you love reformed playboy, forced proximity, and bad boy/good girl romance than you’ll love this book.
And that’s the end of my Love Song by Elle Kennedy book review. If you read this book let me know in the comments and if you loved it as much as I did. If you’re looking for other books to read check out these reviews: How To Find A Guy In Five Weddings, La Dolce Veto, and And Now Back To You.
