Where to eat in Los Angeles California

Before going to Los Angeles I tried to look up some good articles for places to eat but I didn’t find many that were helpful. A lot of them didn’t even have pictures! So now that I have gone I’m going to let you know where I ate and what I liked to help you out if you’re ever in Los Angeles or just want to look at some pictures of delicious food. Some of these restaurants may be in places other than Los Angeles but most or all of them aren’t in Canada so they are new to me . Hope you enjoy this where to eat in Los Angeles post.

Te’kila

Te’kila was the first restaurant we went to when we got to L.A. We stayed at Motel 6 right off Hollywood Boulevard so this restaurant was only a quick walk away. This bar prides itself on their extensive tequila selection. I not a big tequila fan but I did want to try one drink. It was good but it’s a little strong so if you don’t like that then don’t get a Tequila drink.

However, the food here is for everyone. My boyfriend Johnny and I decided to share a few things. The first things we got were nachos and chicken tacos. The nachos were amazing! The guacamole was probably the best I’ve ever had and everything else they put on the nachos really worked together. The chicken tacos were also really great. Then we ordered the carnitas tacos. This was the first time I’ve ever had these and I can’t stop thinking about them! They were amazing! I would definitely have these tacos over and over again everyday if I could.

Hard Rock Cafe

The next day we went to Universal Studios Hollywood and on our way out we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe in City Walk. I’ve been to this restaurant before but Johnny hasn’t so I wanted him to try it out. I got a club sandwich and Johnny got a honey mustard chicken burger. Both were great. It’s a nice restaurant to see all the extra stuff they have around to make it special. Also, the staff at the restaurant were so friendly which always makes your experience greater.

Hollywood Pizza Cafe

The Hollywood Pizza Cafe is another place on Hollywood Boulevard just a short walk from our motel. Their menu actually has quite a few things on it other than pizza that I would have loved to try but we only got pizza because its in their name! They do have pizzas already made so you can just grab a slice and go but we decided to just get a pizza to ourselves and then we can have leftovers if we don’t finish. These pizzas were huge! We definitely had leftovers that’s for sure haha. The pizza is a little on the greasier side but if you don’t mind that then you should love their pizza!

Rise N Grind

Rise N Grind is another place that was near our motel on Hollywood Boulevard. We actually went here twice in the morning. They have lots of different donuts and breakfast foods. We ended up getting breakfast sandwiches on croissants. I loved all of it except the amount of egg. I’m not much of an egg person though so that might just be me. I also got a smoothie and Johnny got a mocha. We both really liked our drinks 🙂

The Cheesecake Factory

I feel like The Cheesecake Factory is a classic in Los Angeles. However, neither Johnny nor myself have ever been. On our trip we wended up going twice because it was convenient to our location and we knew we would like it. In our two trips we ended up getting Alfredo pasta, pizza style chicken Parmesan, nachos, Oreo cheesecake, chocolate mousse cheesecake, and caramel cheesecake. All were great! This place seriously has the best cheesecake I have ever tasted.

Sprinkles Cupcakes

I’ve heard great things about Sprinkles Cupcakes so when I found out there was one at The Grove, I knew I had to try some. We tried red velvet and carrot cake. I especially liked the cinnamon cream cheese frosting on the carrot cake. I also bought the book for Sprinkles Cupcakes so let me know if you would like me to demo any recipes for you!

Fritzi Coop

Another place we ate was Fritzi Coop at The Farmers Market. There was lots to eat there but we had a chicken sandwich and oh my gosh was it ever delicious! Definitely the best I’ve ever had! Probably not the healthiest but definitely the best taste wise. There are so many different foods there so if this doesn’t sound appealing to you I’m sure you’ll find something that you will like.

In-N-Out Burger

We also ate at In-N-Out Burger. I’ve seen so many pictures of the food from here and it always looks to good so I had to try it! And it was definitely good! What I also really liked was the price! It seemed very reasonable compared to other fast food places. I’m so jealous we don’t have any in Canada! This absolutely had to be in my where to eat in Los Angeles post.

The Sidewalk Cafe

On our last day we spent the day at Venice Beach. We went for a long walk and decided to stop somewhere for lunch. We went to the Sidewalk Cafe and it was delicious! I got the chicken pesto wrap and if you know me then you know that this would be my favorite thing! My favorite food is chicken and I absolutely love pesto sauce! I would get this order again if I were to go back. Johnny also got a spicy pork breakfast wrap which I know a lot of people would  love.

  1. Whenever I travel to a new place I go on Facebook and look at the local ‘patch’ page. I scroll through until I find their restaurant recommendations. I’ve found that it’s made for locals by locals and is much more reliable than Yelp or review websites which are often written by unreliable or disgruntled people!!

  2. That’s a lot of different restaurants you tried! Pictures are sooo much better than words. You can’t go wrong if you can see how the real food gets served. Look forward to your next trip!

  3. We are headed to LA this weekend for the Pink concert. I may have to check out one of these places! I am hungry now!!!

  4. In-N-Out is always a MUST when I’m back home in southern California!

  5. Yummy, all of these meals look/sound delicious, especially the carnitas tacos!! 💛🌮I went to California a few years back, and I was curious about In-N-Out because I had heard so much about it. I remember it being super tasty!! I still prefer local burger places and Portillo’s in Chicago though hehe! Also, probably shouldn’t have read this right before dinner, so hungry now lol!! Great post!!

  6. Of course you had to try In-N-Out Burgers when visiting California, lol! I live in northern California and had not heard of a couple of these places – must be a southern California thing.
I loved seeing all the pictures of the foods you tried, that really enhanced the story!

  7. Thanks for the tips..will be very handy when I go to LA next!

  8. Everybody is talking about In’n’Our Burger. I really NEED to try this once I’m back in LA. Okay, I’m getting hungry now.
