I’ve finally gotten back into reading and one of the books I’ve read recently is You’ll Be The Death Of Me by Karen M. McManus. I’ve actually read all of Karen’s books currently published which is why I wanted to read this one and give you a You’ll Be The Death Of Me Book Review.

Author
Karen M. McManus is an American author born in Massachussets. Karen writes young adult mystery fiction. Karen currently has five books published with more on the way. The thing I love the most about Karen’s writing is that I can never guess what’s coming. In all her other books I was completely surprised in the end. In the You’ll Be The Death Of Me book I was able to guess a part of the ending but not near enough to know everything and why things happened in the book.
Because Karen M. McManus is so good at coming up with plots, keeping you guessing, and surprising you, I will continue to read all her books coming out soon. She has a book called Nothing More To Tell coming out coming out August 2022 and One Of Us Is Back in 2023 which is the third book in the One Of Us Is Lying book series which I also did a book review of.
Plot
The book features three main characters. The characters are Ivy, Mateo, and Cal. Ivy is the smart girl that just lost the student election to the class clown. Mateo is tired of working multiple jobs after their family business went under. Lastly, Cal is the loner looking for a meaningful relationship.
These three characters became friends when they were younger but slowly drifted apart. However, when they all happen to meet outside of school one morning they decide to skip school together. This is a great way for them to rekindle their friendship. However, things take a turn for the worse. Ivy, Mateo, and Cal accidently stumble upon a body they believe is dead and may be a student they go to school with. And what makes it worse, is there is an anonymous report of someone seeing a girl with blonde hair fleeing the scene that matches Ivy’s description.
The majority of the book is actually just this one day of events to figure out what really happened. There are many events, twists and turns so make sure you pick up a copy of this book.
Quotes
“You can be right in principle and still wrong in approach.”
“We all make mistakes right? And almost never see the fallout coming.”
“Here’s the thing about powerhouse people: you have no idea how much they take on until they can’t do it anymore.”
And that’s the end of my You’ll Be The Death Of Me Book Review. I loved this book and would definitely recommend this book and any other book by Karen M. McManus. For more book reviews check out One Of Us Is Lying, Reminders Of Him, The Kissing Booth, After book series, and The Hating Game.
