Author

Cara Tanamachi was raised near Texas but is now living in Chicago with her husband, children and her dog. She found her love for books as soon as she was able to read her first picture book and it progressed into a career as a journalist, marketing writer and novelist.

Cara Tanamachi has been writing for 20 years under her formally married name Cara Lockwood but is now writing under her maiden name. She’s written two books under her maiden name, one being The Takeover and the other is The Second You’re Single.

Plot

The Takeover starts with the main character Nami’s 30th birthday. She’s excelled at everything in her academic and professional career but is still searching for more in her personal life. Her sister Sora is getting married to the love of her life Jack. And, while Nami’s so happy for her, she’s reminded of how her fiance threw away their engagement. It’s because of this that for Nami’s birthday wish, she wishes for her soulmate, but ends up face to face with her hate mate.

Nami’s pride and joy, her tech company is about to loose it’s funding. It’s looking like she’ll need to sell and one of the companies interested is her spear headed by high school nemesis Jae Lee who’s planning a hostile take over. Jae Lee is just a Nami remembered, cool, charming, stylish, and great at everything he does.

My Review

My opinion of The Takeover is that this is such a cute book. At first I was worried I wouldn’t be into the book as much because I don’t know a whole lot about technology but that didn’t deter me from loving this book. I loved Nami’s personality and how she’s such a strong and successful women. I also loved Jay Lee’s character. He’s a character you just love to hate and hope to see some personal development.

That is the end of my The Takeover by Cara Tanamachi Book Review. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others who like enemies to lovers books. If you read it be sure to let me know in the comments what you thought about it.
